Jimmy Maymann: The Huffington Post’s New CEO

The Huffington Post has named Jimmy Maymann as its CEO.

Maymann was formerly head of international at AOL. He joined the company after its $96.7m acquisition of Goviral, the video distribution network he founded.

As CEO of The Huffington Post he will take on responsibility for the growth of its online properties, including growing video content on the site both in the US and as it continues launching versions in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post, announced the following on her Twitter account:

In a statement published by The Drum, Huffington said, “Jimmy has been an indispensable partner to me over the past year-and-a-half as we have launched HuffPost around the world. He brings a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to scale a business, so he was the first person I turned to to be our CEO.”
